Top 2 Tuesday

Top 2 Things (not people) you would take to a deserted island

1. Sunblock~ I know if I don't have it my pale freckle Irish skin would be fried to a crisp.

2. iPhone~ that way I could still keep in contact with everyone & blog/FB about my time on this island.

Life is Good

So I am super excited today was the first day in weeks that I actually felt well. I was up with energy & I have just kept going. Could this be the end of the nasty morning sickness I have been experiencing? I didn't even nap today which is a first for me. I cleaned my nasty floors & kitchen FINALLY & not once did I get dizzy. I am so happy that I was able to get this done because its been super depressing not feeling well enough to take care of my mommy & wifey duties. Poor Stephen has had to do most the cleaning up & yesterday cleaned the bathrooms for me. I was actually thinking of looking into a maid service if I hadn't started feeling well.. but thank goodness my first trimester is coming to an end & I am starting to feel normal again. I honestly don't even feel pregnant aside from the need to pee {which has not been as often} & the want to sleep that is in the back of my mind that I am ignoring :-) I am so happy & I pray it continues. Only two weeks left & I will be in my second trimester & I can't wait.

Yesterday Stephen, Shiloh & I went to the Taste of Tacoma.. it was nice to get out of the house & enjoy the sunshine. I even got a little pink on my shoulders. There were so many food venues there I had a hard time choosing what to eat. I settled for a Mango Lemonade {which wasn't that great}, Garlic Fries which are my FAVORITE & Elephant ears yummy. My belly was happy :-) We walked around & checked out the rides but poor Shiloh was still too little to ride. We then sat & listen to some music while Shiloh danced around & then once the music turned into a rapper singing about lost love we decided it was time to head out LOL

Shiloh enjoying the music & dancing away.. our dancing queen!

Food For Prego's

So with both pregnancy's I have had a heck of a time eating. With Shiloh the only things I was able to eat were fruits, veggies & McDonald's. With this pregnancy I want to eat EVERYTHING but most of everything makes me sick. So I have doing a lot of online reading for things that are the best for pregnant ladies. So here is a list of things to keep stocked up on while pregnant if you have sensitive digestive system as I do.

All content copied from What To Expect & I do not take credit for the below list.

  1. Avocados: Loaded with folic acid (vital to forming your baby's brain and nervous system), potassium, vitamin C, and vitamin B6 (which not only helps baby's tissue and brain growth, but may also help with your morning sickness), avocados are a delicious way to get your vitamins. Spread some ripe avocado on your whole grain roll as a healthy substitute for mayo. Keep in mind that avocados are high in fat (though the very good kind) and calories, so heap them on your plate only if you're having trouble gaining weight.

  2. Broccoli: America's favorite cruciferous vegetable, packed with plenty of vitamins A and C, with a calcium bonus (better to build those baby bones with), as well as baby-friendly folic acid. Toss into pasta or casseroles, stir-fry with seafood or chicken, serve steamed (with or without a vinaigrette), or dunk in dip.
  3. Carrots: What's up, Doc? Here's what: Carrots are tops when it comes to vitamin A, so important for the development of your baby's bones, teeth, and eyes. They're perfect for munching on the go, but they also shred neatly into almost anything (from salads to meatloaf to cakes to muffins). Carrots are also a good source of vitamins B6 and C, and fiber to keep things movin'.
  4. DHA eggs: The old egg is still a good egg, delivering a low-calorie, high-protein punch in a tasty little bundle. But here's news: Science now lets us scramble, fry, or boil better eggs, naturally loaded with DHA, one type of omega-3 fatty acid (the "good fat") that is a primary component of the brain and retina, and is essential for brain development and eye formation in the fetus. Plus, they taste just like the eggs you've always loved.
  5. Edamame: These green pods are actually cooked soybeans — and they taste so much better than they sound. Packed with protein, calcium, folic acid, and vitamins A and B, edamame can be scooped up by the handful as a snack (salt them lightly, and you'll never miss the chips), or tossed into just about anything you're cooking, from soups, to pasta, to casseroles, to succotash, to stir-fry. They also make a gas-free stand-in for beans. So don't forget the edamame, Mommy.
  6. Lentils: Branch into beans for folic acid and protein, vitamin B6, and iron. Lentils are the most intestine (and spouse) friendly legume and readily absorb a variety of flavors from other foods and seasonings.
  7. Mangoes: Sweet revenge for any vegetable avoider, mangoes contain more vitamins A and C bite for delicious bite than a salad. This tropical favorite, also packed with potassium, is especially versatile, a perfect complement to sweet and savory dishes. Blend it into smoothies or soups, chop it up in salsas or relishes, simply scoop and enjoy.
  8. Nuts: Nuts are chock-full of important minerals (copper, manganese, magnesium, selenium, zinc, potassium, and even calcium) and vitamin E. And even though they're high in fat, it's mainly the good-for-you kind — especially baby- brain-boosting DHA, which is found in walnuts. So in a nutshell, go nuts with nuts (in moderation if you're gaining quickly, liberally if you're gaining slowly) and toss them into salads, pasta, meat, or fish dishes, and baked goods.
  9. Oatmeal: Here's good reason to feel your oats (and eat them often). They're full of fiber, the B vitamins, and iron and a host of other minerals. Fill your breakfast bowl with them, but don't stop there. You can add oats — and all their nutritional super powers — to pancakes, muffins, cakes, cookies, even meatloaf.
  10. Red pepper: A super-source of vitamins A and C, with plenty of B6 in the bargain, a red pepper is one of nature's sweetest ways to eat your vegetables. Enjoy their sweet crunch as a crudité, with or without dip (they make the perfect take-along snack). Chop them into salsa, slice them into stir-fries and pasta dishes, or roast or grill them (with a little olive oil, garlic, and lemon) and serve them up in sandwiches, salads, or antipastos.
  11. Spinach: Rich in folic acid, iron (which you need for all those blood cells, Baby!), vitamin A, and calcium, spinach now comes completely ready to eat in prewashed bags (free of sand). Eat it raw, in a salad (especially one with almonds and mandarin oranges), or as a wilted bed for fish or chicken, or layered in lasagna.
  12. Yogurt: Cup for cup, yummy yogurt contains as much calcium as milk — but it's packed with protein and folic acid too. Blend it with fruit into satisfying smoothies, layer with granola in a breakfast parfait, use it as a low-calorie substitute for sour cream or mayo in sandwich fillings, dips, and salad dressings, or simply spoon it out of the carton (no matter where you're headed today, a container of yogurt's always easy to find). And here's another reason to find culture: The active cultures in yogurt (also known as good bacteria) can prevent stomach upset, as well as yeast infections.

Wordless Wednesday

The reason for my non post lately.. The Bean.. 10 Weeks

I know I have been pretty wordless lately. This Bean in my belly has really taken me for a ride though. I have been super nauseous, dizzy & tired. My energy is low & my writing mind has come to a stand still at the moment. I just haven't had the energy to sit & write & for that I apologize. I am now 10 weeks as of Monday June 21st so hopefully this morning sickness as they call that for me last from the moment I awake to the time I fall in a deep sleep {which isn't often enough if you ask me}.. will soon be a thing of the past & I can start enjoying the Bean in the belly & have my energy & day to day life back. So bare with me peeps.

Father's Day Edition
This picture was taken right after I gave birth to Shiloh. This was Stephen's first time holding her. He was so exhausted but such a proud papa. This was the best day of our lives other then our wedding day. This was the day that we were forever bonded. I can't wait to have another moment like this when Bean is born. My kids are so lucky to have such an amazing father who loves them so much & works his butt off so he can provide the world to them. I am so lucky to have such an amazing husband & father to my kids. Love you Babe!

Happy 7th Birthday

Seven years ago to day we were blessed with our Junebug! Alyssa is such a joy in our lives & I can't believe it has already been 7 years since she first came into our lives. She is the first grand baby on my side of the family & my first niece. She is such an amazing child who is so loving, funny, caring & smart. I love my niece so very much & I hope she has the best 7th Birthday Ever! She lives in Florida so she is pretty far away but she is always in our thoughts & we can't wait to see her next year! When we visit!

We Have A Graduate!!

So this last Saturday June 12th my brother in law graduated from the University of Washington with a double major Bachelor Degree. We are all so very proud of his hard work & accomplishments. He is the first one in Stephen's family to have a college degree & we couldn't be any prouder. Andrew who Shiloh cause Dewbee will be doing some traveling now before he decides what is next. He recently started dating a sweet girl named Kristen who is adorable & we are so happy he has found someone so sweet & who fits right in with the family. She too graduated with the same degree as Andrew & together they want to first head to Texas to help with the oil clean up this summer & then do some traveling as well.
Andrew we are supper proud of you & congratulations again on all your accomplishments!

Relaxing Turned Nightmare

So this past weekend we took our yearly trip to Idaho for the Manager's & Wives outing that Discount Tire has for us. From the start I had issues. With the rental car they needed a major credit card.. well we don't have nor do we use major credit cards we pay cash or use our ATM cards. So that was a nightmare. Then we get to the resort & they need a major credit card again, now last year I did have one but this year I did not so again another nightmare but they finally agreed to copy my ATM card & hold it on file. So we are finally over the credit card drama & start enjoying our stay.

The first night I stayed up fairly late with everyone having a great time, my husband let loose & had quite a few drinks & well lets just say he was cheer leading for everyone. {Love You Babe} He only does this once a year & if Shiloh would have been with us he would never. It was a lot of fun watching him drink away.

Then the next day I woke feeling like I was the one drinking the night before & had the worst headache. Stephen left fairly early for Golfing so it was just me, myself & I. I had my breakfast delivered then off to my spa treatment I went. I decided to have a facial because I really enjoyed it the last time I had one when I was pregnant with Shiloh. Plus there were not a lot options for spa treatments being pregnant & the maternity message last time was not that great to me. I love getting facial's however it did make my headache worse for some reason. Once I was done I went back to the room for a nice quite nap.

That evening was the dinner boat & that too was a lot of fun. I am glad I was able to keep up with everyone. But once we docked I headed to bed because I started to get a stomach ache & was hit with exhaustion. Stephen stayed down in the lobby bar with everyone but stayed sober LOL.

Then one Tuesday we had a nice breakfast, watched While in Rome from our bed & then it was time to check out. We walked around the town {which is super cute by the way}. Then had lunch at Bonsai Sushi which was so yummy. Then we all headed to the airport.

Once we arrived & where checking in the clerk said we could get on an earlier flight which made me happy cause by this point I was missing my angle very much. So we get through baggage claim & I went to the store to get some ChapStick. I swear I never took my wallet out of my purse I just pulled cash out to pay. I start walking over to Stephen & notice my wallet is gone. I start to panic. It has EVERYTHING in it. So Stephen & I are frantic looking for it. The plane is boarding & they are calling us to board so I tell them what has happened & they said we had a few minutes. Then some lady comes up saying there was a black wallet in the ladies room. I run in & there it is. Everything inside. The thing that gets me is I never went in the ladies room so how the heck did it get in there? Also this all happened I swear with 5 to 10 minutes. I am still clueless! So after that stressful moment we board the plan & are on our way home.. mind you it was a little awkward on the plan because my eye's were bright red from crying so I am sure everyone was wondering what was wrong with the pregnant lady.. also I kept snapping at Stephen from all the stress.. oops.

So then we get to the in laws & I see my angel made all the madness from the day instantly went away & my heart was content. Then we arrived home & I went to balance our budget from the last few days to find that there were 2 charges on my account that were so not correct!!! The first one was for $304.99 a withdraw done in Las Vegas on Monday. Then another one for $303 another withdraw done in Vegas. I was freaking out once again. I call the bank to let them know that these charges are not correct & they tell me that they can't credit the charge until it has gone through the fraud department. Of course they have no remorse & are calm as can be while my heart is about to explode. Well I was and still am freaking out because that leaves us with ZERO money until tomorrow & even then we have bills to pay & some that are auto pay so we have no way of stopping them. We did however get a temp credit for one of them but I am still waiting on the other. I am so upset because we need our money & I just don't understand how this could have happened.

I have been reading a lot to find out how this could have happened because who ever was using my ATM card had not only the number but the PIN as well. My PIN is not one that anyone could guess so I am just blown away. I have read that there are people out there coping your card & PIN when you use your ATM at ATM's unassociated to your bank, gas stations & even convenience stores. This is just crazy to me. I mean how in the heck? I can't believe this is happening. So I have now decided we are paying cash for EVERYTHING!! Well until they can secure ATM cards better. I just refuse to go through this nightmare again.. it really is a nightmare.. one I don't need being pregnant.

So if I where you I would watch were you use your ATM cards & make sure you don't have your PIN or any bank info written down ANYWHERE!!

Shiloh's new thing is to not eat until Daddy is home. The other night she sat with him & helped him eat his teriyaki. She is a daddy's girl that is for sure!

Tomorrow Is Almost Here!

So tomorrow is finally approaching.. after a little over a month of waiting we are finally going to the doctor to have our very first Ultra Sound with our little Bean. I can't wait to finally have peace of mind that the baby is doing well & that we really are pregnant after all this time.

I know me worrying something is wrong is so silly & so unnecessary but I am a worry wort & I have the worst anxiety & when pregnant its tripled. I keep asking myself am I really pregnant? Is this real? I just feel like we tried for so long to have another baby & all the agony of not being pregnant each month that went by.. that now that it has happened its just seems like a dream I guess.

I feel so fortunate to be pregnant & to have the miracle of experiencing pregnancy & motherhood all over again. I honestly was scared the fertility would take months or not work at all & look at me now.. it only took one cycle.. how lucky do I feel? I tell you I have been thanking the man about now daily for all the miracles he has blessed me with.

I can't wait for tomorrow & to see if we are blessed with one baby or two & to see how far along I am. I can't wait to have the reassurance from the doctor that baby is just fine. I also can't wait to get on some medicine to help with this sickness I have felt so I can be more useful to Shiloh & Stephen instead of just laying around all the time feeling like death is upon me.

So be on the lookout for some of the first photo's of our Little Bean tomorrow & for me to tell you all about our doctor visit. I will be praying for wonderful news & a healthy baby as I have everyday since we found out we were expecting Bean #2.

Top 2 Tuesday

Top 2 Books

1. Well I am not much a reader never have been. But the books I do read I have loved. My favorite book in high school & the best book I have EVER read. Was Go Ask Alice. It is a sad book about a girl with many life struggles at a very young age. Its her diary & I tell you after I read this book I realized my life was not that bad. It really helped me to see that there are worse things in the world then just my issues I was having growing up. It really helped me to understand life a little better & to have more direction for a better life too. I am so glad my social worker had me read it & I still to this day LOVE this book! Too bad someone borrowed it & never returned it. I still have to buy another copy.

2. My second book would have to be sTori Telling. I guess I love diaries or books about others LOL. I love Tori & I love what she writes. It helped me to understand her better as a person & it was a really good read. I think it made me just love her that much more :-) I also have read her Mommywood book & that is another favorite of mine as well.

Most of you probably thought I would have The Twilight series on here & yes I am in love with Twilight but I still need to finish reading the first book before I can consider it my fav. But what I have read so far it is by far the hardest book to put down.. I just need to find more time to pick it back up. So once I am done with the series ask me again what my fav. books are & I am sure it will be ALL Twilight :-)

Knot In My Tummy

So I have had the worst indigestion with this pregnancy. I think it is the cause of my sickness. I have tried so many different things that I am at my whits end now. My stomach is so tight & hurts so bad that I am almost to tears. Last night I was trying to remember what I did when I had this with Shiloh & I remembered taking Tagament & Zantac. So I went on the hunt for that.. lucky we had some still. I took the Tagament & it relieved some of the pressure just enough so I could sleep but when I woke up this morning it was back in full effect. So I am now going to try the Zantac to see if it works better for me.

I tell you I am just one big complainer these days but I am just so uncomfortable & over feeling so sick. I pray that on Wednesday they can put me on the same nausea med's they had me on with Shiloh because life is so much more difficult when feeling like this & its surely depressing me & that is not good at all.

Only 5 more days & we have our Ultra Sound to see if there is 1 or 2 babies in the belly & also to see how far along I am exactly. Some days I think there is two babies others one.. some days I think I am further a long other I think not.. so I have a lot of questions that I pray are answered on Wednesday.. & man its going to be a Huge Relief to be able to see the baby too.. I think I just need that peace of mind.

Just Plain Sick & TIred

So I tell you what if I thought my pregnancy with Shiloh was rough.. I was seriously mistaken! The past week I have been stuck laying down 75% of my day, feeling super nauseous, extremely tired, hungry ALL the time, stomach aches & dizzy.

I just got off the phone with the nurse from my doctors office & she gave me some tips on things to try that have worked for others. So if you are in my boat here are somethings to try:

For Nausea:
1. Unisom half with vitamin B6 50 milligram at night
2. C Bans that are used for motion sickness
3. Emetrol Nausea
4. Stop taking Prenatals for now or try Flinstone Vitamins
5. Zantac {For Heartburn}
6. She also said to try eating small bland portions verse meals & to add cheese or peanut butter to your crackers or toast to hold you over longer.

The nurse said that with all the things I told her on how I am feeling that it sounds like it could be twins.. but she said will have to see on next weeks ultra sound.. I hope the next week goes by fast cause the anticipation is killing me!!

Top 2 Bachelorette Picks

I love Roberto!! I think he is sweet kind & has it all going for him. Plus Latino men usually know how to treat a lady {I know because I am married to one}. He just seems genuine & like he has his head on straight & is there for the right reasons.

I feel in love with Frank the moment the introduced him on the show. I think he is fun, adventurous &  I think they have great chemistry & a lot in common. I think Ali is right when she said having a sense of humor is important & being able to laugh with your partner is as well. I think they are super cute together too!

Who are your pick's? Blog about & link up over at The Undomestic Momma when you are done!
