30 Week Ultra Sound Precaution

So tomorrow I am going in to have another ultra sound. If you have been following my Baby #2 post then you may know what it has taken for me to get pregnant due to my PCOS or Polycystic Ovary Syndrome & that there was other things in my medical history that was never opened up. I haven't shared & I wasn't sure if I should or if I was even ready but I think its something worth talking about for women who are unaware who may have the same condition or conditions as I do.

In 2006 I was diagnosed with HPV or Human Papilomavirus {the cervical cancer form}. When first told I had this it was a scary time. Not only was I told that I had it but I was also told it was so sever that it had formed to cancer on my cervix's. Being unaware of what this was I was scared out of my mind. All I heard was CANCER & sexually transmitted, so I was so freaked out.. it was a very bad day. So I was referred to see a regular OBGYN because I had had my annual at Planned Parenthood. So I found a doctor & was seen right way. I was told they would have to do a Colposcopy & then a Leep. When this is done they have to take some of my cervix's out. {To explain it would take a long time so just click on the links if you want to know more} Anyways its a simple fast procedure but one that is not fun. Then in 2009 I was told it had returned full force at the cancer lever once again & I would have to have the procedure all over again. I was told after having two of these there is a chance that carrying a baby full term may be hard because the less cervix's I have well the less cervix's I have to hold the baby in. So of course this scared me to death.

I started seeing a specialist in March of this year who is well educated & has handled many cases like mine so she is the one who helped us get pregnant & she is the one who has been very good about keep up with my pregnancy & taking zero chances which is so nice to have peace of mind.

We knew when we were pregnant with Shiloh & even only having the procedure done once at this point that my cervix's may not hold & well she was 2 weeks early. So this time around we have known that I may not carry full term. So since I have been having contractions since 16 weeks & pelvic pain that is some days unbearable my doctor is having me come in tomorrow to measure my cervix's & see where we are at. We don't think she will stay put until January 17th 2011 but we want to see how much longer we may have & if I can make it even to 37 weeks. I pray we can & I know by 32 weeks her lungs are developed & she should be good to go but I want her to stay put for as long as possible.

I know that if my cervix's measures less the 3.5 cm then my body is preparing for baby to make her way into the world. So I pray we are at or above 3.5 cm. If not there is a chance I will have to be on bed rest or admitted to the hospital to be monitored if it's really low for the remainder of my pregnancy. Most would love to be waited on 24/7 but me well this means I will not see Shiloh as often.. my in laws will have to take her because I won't be able to care for her.. & they live over an hour away & that makes me sad because I know these are the last few weeks of just Shiloh & mommy time. Then if I am in the hospital well lets just say I will probably become super depressed because I will be so lonely in there :(

But I guess I just need to think of the positive's & know that whatever is going on & whatever is decided its all for the best & that God has a plan.. I just hope that there is no cause for concern & that the precaution is just that a precaution. So pray for me & for Gabriella that she is going to stay in my warm belly to at least 37 weeks!!

30 weeks Nov. 8th to Nov. 14th 2010
